Hi Daniel, it’s a pleasure to have you in our interview space! For those who might not know, how did you decide to dedicate yourself to this?

It was a passion that came to me at 18 years old. My uncle was always involved in the nightlife scene bars and nightclubs and he was also a DJ. One night, I went to one of his clubs where there was an electronic music party. At the end of the night, I entered the DJ booth, started looking at the equipment, and began to “play” with it. That was my first interaction with equipment like that, and it caught my attention so much that I told one of the DJs that night to teach me. And that’s how it happened the rest is history.

Why did you change your alias, and how many have you had?

I didn’t really change my alias; it was more of an evolution from Araujo to Innexen. I still perform as Araujo in DJ sets, but I felt a deep need to evolve the name and take a more professional step in my career. That’s how Innexen was born—my evolution as a producer and artist, and the project through which I do Live Acts focused on techno with hypnotic tones and lots of groove.

I also have another alias where I explore more melodic, house, and minimal sounds—something I do purely out of passion. I hold it dear because it’s not an alias I promote on social media or push heavily, but it has allowed me to connect with many places and people. That alias is Extra Solar. So, these are my three aliases

What was the moment that pushed you toward production? How do you balance being both a DJ and a producer?

I think realizing the potential of my DJ career made me want to take it to the next level. My first steps into production began in 2018, when I decided to fully immerse myself in this side of music. Today, it’s a daily habit and an integral part of my life.

What made you choose the live format, and how did you prepare for it for your performances?

I always wanted to interact more with the music during my performances, having control over the elements and managing my own timing—something that’s harder to achieve in a DJ set. In 2023, I decided it was time to make it happen and got to work. Studying has been a key factor in my process.

For my performances, I like to keep things updated based on what I’m working on in my daily productions. You’ll always find distinct nuances in each performance. I truly enjoy dedicating time to each one, bringing fresh elements every time. It’s a personal standard I hold myself to, and it makes me enjoy presenting it to the audience even more.

We know that in October you performed in Madrid for the first time. How did it feel to be there? Do you have any upcoming dates that you’re particularly excited about?

Madrid really captivated me. Its people, the audience, and the guys from Plus One made me feel at home. It was a date where I took over the booth after Zadig and shared the stage with Stive Bicknell. To showcase my Innexen project outside my home country was a dream come true.

To close the year, the date I’m most excited about is Elemental Festival, alongside Nina Kraviz, Sam Paganini, and Audion Live. Returning to the festival after five years is something truly special for me.

If you want to add something else, what would it be?

Dreams can come true with consistent work and discipline; you just have to trust your intuition.

Thank you for this space
