How many years ago did you started playing techno?

7 years.

null

Why did you choose to be a Techno DJ?

I always had the dream of being on the other side of the booth to be able to make people feel the same as I felt on the side of the track. I think the most important thing is to make people enjoy and take them on a journey where they can find love and introspection at the same time.

What musical lines do you prefer to play?

Peak - time - Raw - Acid

Who is your favorite DJ or reference inspiration?

To say just one is complicated, If I have to refer to one in particular, in my early years, the one who blew my mind and made me discover a completely new sound to what I knew at the time was Richie Hawtin. He was someone who blew my mind and made me appreciate how far I could get the sound of electronica and all that it could transmit. Today as a producer I find a lot of admiration for the modern sounds that Enrico Sangiuliano is generating.

What do you hope for the future of the music scene?

As in everything there are always things to improve and to question, I think the big producers should give more opportunities to local talents, and not just fill a lineup with international artists and one or two local artists (Which are usually always the same). I think there are many Uruguayan artists with great talent which should be promoted and given opportunities, then people should decide if they like what the artist proposes or not.

Lately I see that some producers are moving towards the side, putting national and international at the same level, but I think there is still a lot of work to be done and a lot of awareness to be generated.

Do you have a favorite track?

In the field of electronic music if I had to choose a favorite track would be ‘Symbiosis’ by Enrico Sangiuliano. It is a song with a high emotional charge and excellent mixing/production techniques. Is one of those songs that when listening to it motivates me to continue producing and to be able to transmit something like this someday.

If you want to add something else, what would it be?

First of all I want to thank you for this space to express a little of what is our thoughts / vision about music and the scene in general. For my part I would like to add that music is the most beautiful channel we have as humans to convey what we feel and identify with the others. I think we should not forget what is the general purpose of music, not only in electronic but music in general. which in my opinion is that no matter where we come from music hits us all the same and before it we are all equal, and one as an artist is always equal, and one as a artist is always the same, not only in electronic but music in general. Which in my opinion is that no matter where we come from music hits us all equally, and before it we are all equal, and one as an artist should always keep this in mind. We have an immense power in our hands which strongly influences how the others feels, thinks and eventually how he/she acts.

In short, I think that in some cases you should think less about the business and more about the content, what you are transmitting, the message you want to give and the artistic vision you have.

Again, thanks for this interview and thanks to all of you who continue to support what we do.
